How Intel AI Turned Community Events Into a Developer Movement

The Challenge

The Intel AI Developer Marketing team wanted to deepen relationships with developers across North America. But while single events could create a spark, they rarely scaled, drained resources, and left little behind once the banners came down. And while traditional conference booths delivered visibility, they often lacked the authenticity and technical depth required to spark lasting connections.

The team wanted something more. They wanted a way to meet developers where they were, to make the conversations stick, and to turn one-off encounters into ongoing momentum. So they set out to change the playbook by building an event ecosystem that was strategic, repeatable, and, above all, developer-first.

Solution

Enter the Intel AI Summit, a full-fledged platform for community-driven engagement. The Summit series and affiliated event provided a cohesive, community-driven approach to developer activations. A strategic framework and playbook were designed, directing every activation, from meetups to influencer dinners, with consistency and credibility, and rolling up into a larger narrative of trust and technical depth.

Partnerships with leading industry organizations like GitHub, IBM, AWS, Ultralytics, and Voxel51 brought additional technical relevance, while strategic event management support and collateral production from Catchy enabled seamless execution from planning through post-event communications.

Strategy & Execution

The Intel AI vision came to life through:

  • A strategy-first mindset that used developer impact scoring to prioritize the most meaningful opportunities

  • A tiered event playbook tailored by audience that covered everything from recommended activations to must-have resources.

  • A built-to-scale creative platform that ensured Intel AI event collateral felt cohesive, whether in Seattle or Nashville.

  • Partnering with trusted developer influencers and esteemed collaborators like GitHub, IBM, AWS, Ultralytics, and Voxel51, the summits were firmly centered on “community”.

  • Showcased real-world demos and built grassroots credibility.

  • Storytelling that travelled the full communications lifecycle, from pre-event buzz to post-event recaps.

  • Ongoing adaptations to activations, collateral, and strategy in light of incremental insights from each event.

Outcomes

  • 35 developer-focused activations across 10 North American tech hubs

  • 20+ hands-on AI demos and 12 engaged influencers

  • 1.9K conference opt-ins, 1.5K meetup registrations, and 500+ check-ins at CVPR Nashville alone

  • A sustainable, scalable framework that Intel teams can continue to leverage globally

Impact

Intel didn’t just host events—they built a movement. By moving from fragmented, one-off events to a unified, developer-centric strategy, Intel AI has strengthened its position as a trusted leader in the space.

The AI Summit program has opened new pathways for developers to engage, explore Intel technologies, and build long-term connections with the brand.
