How Qualcomm Sparked Engagement with a Data-Driven Approach to Developer Marketing

The Challenge
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is known for pushing the limits of what’s possible, enabling developers to deliver AI, performance, and connectivity in everything from phones to edge devices. Their next big opportunity lay in getting more developers to build on that innovation, explore what’s possible, and bring new ideas to life with Qualcomm® products and platforms.
Their Developer Marketing team needed to cut through the noise of a fragmented, fast-moving ecosystem to reach the right people, with the right message, at the right moment. The goal was to grow adoption and engagement across selected developer categories (Edge AI/ML developers, embedded IoT engineers, and robotics/ROS developers, etc.).
Solution
Qualcomm Technologies partnered with Catchy to design and run a full-funnel media pilot. Part awareness play, part data-gathering mission. Together, Qualcomm Technologies and Catchy developed channel strategies, crafted creative, and optimized campaigns in real-time, using data-based theorems on the messaging and media that would get developers to stop, click, and care.
From Ethical Ads to IEEE newsletters, from LinkedIn to laser-targeted search, we met developers where they already were. We tested messages, visuals, regions, and even timing to learn what landed and what didn’t. And we tied every piece of creative back to showing developers what Qualcomm Technologies could unlock for them.

The Results
October 2024 - December 2024
-
4.8M+ million impressions and over 103,000 clicks (blowing past industry CTR and CPC benchmarks!)
-
Time-on-site that beat B2C tech averages, signaling real, relevant engagement
-
96% unique site visits, confirming reach to net-new audiences
-
Regional targeting unlocked high-value traffic spikes (especially in APAC)

Impact
More than just performance metrics, this campaign delivered insight into Qualcomm Technologies’ audience and helped to guide where future investments should go. It gave the team the confidence and the roadmap for scalable, developer-first outreach and revealed how different developer segments interact with Qualcomm Technologies’ messaging across channels. These insights now inform everything from product storytelling to event strategy, enabling the Qualcomm Technologies team to keep growing its developer community with intent.
